Inspection and CE

The risk of accidents, physical injury and material damage may be the consequences of an unsafe Mezzanine floor. To prevent this, the law states that you, as an employer, must carry out three mandatory inspections of your warehouse and/or Mezzanine floor. These are the zero inspection, the periodic safety inspection and the inspection in the event of damage. The obligation to inspect warehouse racking is laid down in European standard NEN-EN 15635. This states that there is a maintenance obligation for warehouse racking and mezzanine floors. This law also states that the safety inspection of racking must be carried out by an expert at three points: after installation, relocation or conversion of the racking (the zero measurement) and after serious damage and periodically (at least every 12 months). Nolte Mezzanine has these expert inspectors at its disposal. The inspectors can provide you with all 3 types of inspection.

The zero inspection

This inspection is performed at the conclusion of the installation/assembly of your Mezzanine floor. Each change in the configuration or relocation of your Mezzanine floor requires this ‘initial inspection’.

The periodic inspection
Once every 12 months, the inspector will visit you to inspect your Mezzanine floor. He checks the current configuration against the prescribed configuration on the load boards. He also checks for damage.

The damage inspection
Should serious damage be found to your Mezzanine floor at your company, the inspector will visit you to see what actions are needed to make it as safe as possible again.

What does a Nolte safety inspection entail?

Your floor is inspected;
Damages are clearly located;
Your warehouse is mapped out “in drawing form”;
We make an estimate of the repair costs for you;
We offer you the possibility to have a logistic check-up.
In addition to our one-off inspections, Nolte Mezzanine also offers inspection subscriptions. This can be a 1-year, a 3-year or a 5-year subscription. Nolte then provides you with all inspections. Nolte Mezzanine will visit you at least once a year for the periodic inspection. In the event of adjustments or damage, an appointment can be made for the relevant inspection.

Safety
In the context of safety, we inform you about a number of relevant laws and guidelines, which we focus in this section on the safety of warehouse racking.
After all, safety in the workplace has not been a non-committal matter for a long time. As an employer you are primarily responsible for the working conditions within your company.

Permits
We also draw your attention to legal requirements in the field of necessary permits. We also point out that warehouses must undergo annual (periodic) inspections. We would like to be of service to you in this respect as well.

Fire resistance
Nolte Mezzanine can supply floors that are produced in accordance with the requirements of the fire service and insurance company.
