Mezzanine floor
Mezzanine for Your Business Space
Nolte Mezzanine
Nolte specializes in manufacturing mezzanine floors. There are various names for the term ‘mezzanine floor’, such as entresol floor, intermediate floor, or upper floor. In the past, this referred to a concrete floor laid using a specific system, often with standard components like concrete beams. The rigid parts of the system floor provided the necessary reinforcement. These types of system floors are also used in ICT environments, originally intended to hide cables and pipes while maintaining a walkable surface.
Meaning of Mezzanine
A mezzanine is a self-supporting intermediate floor. The word comes from the Italian ‘mezzano’, meaning ‘middle’. Other names for these floors include entresol or intermediate floor. This self-supporting construction makes it possible to create extra floor space between two existing floors. The advantage is that no major renovation is needed, making it a smart, fast, and affordable solution for space shortage or additional storage.
Nolte’s mezzanine floors are made of strong steel structures and can bear up to 3,500 kg per m². This makes them suitable for various purposes: from warehouse layouts to additional office spaces. A Nolte product is a complete solution for optimal use of space.

Why Choose a Mezzanine Floor?
In architecture, a mezzanine is a self-supporting structure placed between two floors, especially in tall spaces, to create extra usable area. Often, a mezzanine does not cover the full floor plan of a building. Sometimes it is enclosed by four walls. Accessibility is key, and the best solution is to add a staircase for easy access to the extra level.

Properties of a Mezzanine
Thanks to Nolte’s wide range of profiles, we can design the right mezzanine floor for almost any application. We offer not only cold-rolled profiles with a hexagonal hole pattern, but also other patterns and closed profiles.
Closed profiles are more cost-effective (since no holes need punching) and typically a few percent stronger. However, for large floor loads and spans, cold-rolled profiles may not suffice. Therefore, we also offer hot-rolled profiles. We always ensure the right solution!
DIY Kit
We can install the mezzanine for you or deliver it as a kit. These kits are similar to Meccano construction toys and come with a clear assembly manual. If needed, we also offer on-site installation and transport.
Energy-Efficient
Our mezzanine floors are a flexible system. Load capacity up to 3,500 kg/m². Spans of up to twelve meters possible. Our unique cold-rolled profiles offer many technical advantages:
- HEXA holes for light/sprinkler passage with no height loss
- Up to 11% cost savings by using the structure as a cable duct
- Up to 17% savings on damage costs through protected lighting/sprinklers
- Up to 43% less lighting needed thanks to reflected light
