Bleckmann – Bergen op Zoom
Bleckmann’s clothing warehouse in Bergen op Zoom needed expansion. We achieved this with 9,000 m² of new floor space
A success story in pictures
Check out the photos below to see the transformation of this project, from its very first concept to its completion. Each image tells part of the story, revealing the attention to detail and careful planning that went into this project.

What we delivered
For Bleckmann’s warehouse in Bergen op Zoom, we transformed 4,250 square metres into 13,500 usable square metres. We did this by constructing two floors of mezzanine floors, which could be used immediately.
A big project
At Nolte Mezzanine, we have done many different projects over the years, large and small. In principle, the working method in these projects is not very different, but there is of course a difference in terms of planning and further preparation, as it requires more attention and time in a larger project. The end result is one to be proud of: 9,000 square metres spread over two floors.
This is not the first time we were allowed to create additional space for Bleckmann, as we have already helped them with projects in Amsterdam and Almelo. The good relationship we built up through these projects came into play again, as a bond of trust ensures tighter deadlines and targeted results.
How did we proceed?
For a large project like this, planning is essential. This starts with looking at exactly where the demand from Bleckmann lies. After all, they wanted not only more storage, but also integration with an order picking system and other warehouse solutions. Then we looked at what opportunities there were in the current building. Fortunately, there were plenty! Before Bleckmann started working with us, their warehouse in Bergen op Zoom had 4,250 square metres available, now it is more like 13,500 square metres.
The final result
Finally, we delivered two beautiful mezzanine floors for Bleckmann in Bergen op Zoom. For these, we used cold-rolled profiles and a column grid of 6,000 mm by 6,000 mm with a chipboard finish. In addition, we integrated Bleckmann’s current warehouse system, so no major modifications had to be made to it.
One challenge we encountered in both the planning and development of the mezzanine floor was how to successfully observe the sprinkler system. The lifts and lights were also a puzzle, but one that ultimately came together well.
On to the next one!
The additional floors for Bleckmann are a great testament to the good relationship between Bleckmann and Nolte Mezzanine. For the next project, we will again use the same enthusiasm for the same results.
