Optimal use of height
To make the distribution center future-proof, Nolte Mezzanine built a two-level mezzanine for DHL Home Delivery GmbH. The floor doubled capacity and enabled the integration of conveyors and storage locations. The result is a more efficient workflow that optimizes both space and throughput speed.
The challenge: growth within existing walls
DHL faced growing logistics processes and limited storage space in the existing distribution center. Expanding outside the building was not an option, so the height of the space had to be used optimally. The solution also had to be flexible enough to handle future capacity demands.
Technical solution for storage and transport
The mezzanine was constructed with cold-rolled profiles and a column grid of approximately 5,000 x 6,000 mm. The chipboard flooring and stability provided by portals ensure a solid and safe structure. With floor heights of +3,245 mm and +6,445 mm, the mezzanine provides sufficient capacity for both storage and conveyors. This setup makes the distribution center more efficient and scalable.

Thanks to the turn-key execution, the client could focus on daily operations while Nolte managed the entire process from design to delivery. Intensive collaboration and short communication lines ensured a smooth project.
