A safe and flexible 677 m² maintenance platform for efficient train maintenance
A platform that takes maintenance to the next level
For NS Amsterdam Zaanstraat, Nolte Mezzanine designed and delivered a single-level mezzanine floor with a total area of 677 m². The structure, made from cold-formed steel profiles with a column grid of approximately 6,000 x 4,400 mm and chipboard flooring, provides the perfect foundation for safe and efficient maintenance operations. With this custom-made design, a clear and future-proof workspace was created, improving both workflow and safety.
More space, better accessibility
The maintenance team at NS faced limited workspace and restricted access to key train components. This made maintenance less efficient and less safe. With the new mezzanine floor by Nolte Mezzanine, this issue has been completely resolved. The platform adds extra workspace, improves accessibility, and brings logical structure to the workshop. Thanks to its modular design, the system can easily be adjusted or expanded in the future.
Technical precision meets flexibility
The mezzanine floor was built at a height of +1780 mm and stabilized with cross braces to ensure maximum strength. The use of cold-formed steel profiles and chipboard flooring resulted in a solid and reliable structure. Specifically designed for train maintenance, the demountable system allows future modifications or extensions without major costs or downtime.
From design to delivery: a complete process
Nolte Mezzanine managed the entire process from start to finish. The project began with a detailed inventory of the customer’s needs and safety requirements. Then followed the design, engineering, and approval phase, after which production, delivery, and on-site assembly took place. Finally, the platform was tested, verified for safety, and handed over with clear usage instructions. Nolte Mezzanine’s role included design, engineering, production, delivery, assembly, and final commissioning.
