Max Koedam

Head Engineer

Outside of work, I enjoy the simple things. Going for a walk, a good meal and relaxing with a series in the evening. And when the weather’s nice, I never say no to a festival with a beer.

About

Max Koedam

My adventure at Nolte Mezzanine started through my father, Jurgen Koedam, who also works at the company. He asked me if I’d like to come and see what Nolte Mezzanine actually produces. That visit made an immediate impression, and I got the chance to start in the engineering department.
I’ve always been fascinated by technology, but at Nolte Mezzanine I developed a strong interest in steel construction. Coming up with solutions, working them out in 3D software and then seeing the design get produced and assembled remains a special process.
What I love about my work is collaborating with clients. By really understanding how their processes work and what they need, we can arrive at a well thought-out design together with engineers and constructors. The input from production and assembly is important here to translate theory into practice.

My role at Nolte Mezzanine

By now I work as Lead Engineer and I’m involved in various project teams. I’m in contact with clients, suppliers, assembly teams, engineers and constructors. That variety makes the job interesting. I’m also involved in product development and software development. Ideas are shared within the company, and together we work on new products and tools that help us work more efficiently.
The logistics sector is developing rapidly, and automation is playing an increasingly bigger role. Systems such as robots and conveyors are more often integrated on mezzanines. This calls for structures that can handle both dynamic and static loads. When I see one of our structures in use, I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together.
