Airbus
A mezzanine floor of 1,300 m² that doubles storage capacity and enables efficient storage of aircraft components in Hamburg

The situation before the mezzanine floor
Airbus faced insufficient storage capacity for aircraft components within its existing facility. The available space was not being used optimally, resulting in scattered storage and increasing pressure on the efficiency of logistical processes. At the same time, expanding into a new building was not a preferred option, meaning the solution had to be found within the current space.
A mezzanine floor that doubles space
For Airbus, Nolte Mezzanine delivered a mezzanine floor with a total surface area of 1,300 m². The structure is built from a combination of hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel profiles, with a column grid of approximately 6,000 x 4,600 mm and a wooden floor finish. By making optimal use of the building height, the available space has effectively been doubled.

Efficient solution for storing aircraft components
The mezzanine floor provides Airbus with a practical solution for storing aircraft components. The total usable area has been expanded from 1,300 m² to 2,600 m², with both the ground floor and mezzanine fully utilised. This creates better overview, improved organisation of components and a more efficient logistical process within the warehouse.
Technical specifications and execution
The mezzanine floor consists of one level with a floor height of +6,770 mm. Stability is ensured through portal frames, resulting in a robust and reliable structure. The floor is specifically designed for storage applications and is suitable for safely storing aircraft components within an industrial environment.

From design to installation in one process
Nolte Mezzanine was responsible for the entire process, from design and engineering to production and installation of the mezzanine floor. The project started with measuring the available space, followed by the development of a tailored technical design. The steel structure was then produced and prepared for installation, after which on-site installation was carried out professionally.
- Customer-focused approach: storage requirements formed the basis of the design
- Engineering: custom-built structure tailored to the available space
- Production: preparation of the steel structure for installation
- Installation: professional on-site assembly
- Result: an efficient and immediately usable storage solution
Through careful planning and close coordination with the client, the project was completed efficiently and according to schedule.
Collaboration as the foundation for a successful project
The collaboration between Airbus and Nolte Mezzanine was characterised by close and constructive communication from the start. Regular alignment on technical requirements and planning ensured that construction and logistical processes were well coordinated. This resulted in a smooth project execution and an end result that fully meets expectations.

A future-proof solution for the aerospace sector
With this mezzanine floor, Airbus now benefits from an efficient and well-organised storage solution that makes optimal use of the available space. The combination of increased capacity, a well-thought-out design and a robust structure makes this solution suitable for long-term and intensive use within the aerospace sector.
