Efficient use of space

TerStal, a leading fashion company based in Almelo approached us asking to optimise their available storage space. We delivered a custom-made mezzanine floor, doubling its storage capacity from 667 m² to 1334 m². Thanks to our future-oriented design, the mezzanine floor can also be extended to 2001 m², preparing terStal for further growth and a more efficient order picking process.

A smart solution

In order to make optimal use of the space, we built a mezzanine floor for terStal, constructed from cold-rolled profiles and finished with a wooden chipboard floor. This construction doubled their usable space from 667 m² to 1334 m². The mezzanine was designed with future-proof expansion in mind, allowing the floor to be extended to a second floor if necessary.

The challenges of terStal

TerStal faced two main challenges: first, there was an urgent need for additional storage capacity for their growing range of fashion products. In addition, the available space within the current facility needed to be used more efficiently to optimise operational processes. With the possibility of future expansion to a second floor, they also needed a flexible solution that could grow with them.

Our approach: customisation and flexibility

We designed a mezzanine floor that perfectly suited terStal’s specific needs. The floor, with a column grid of 5,000 x 5,000 mm, was built with sturdy cold-rolled steel and fitted with a wood chipboard finish. Our bespoke design allowed terStal to double their storage space immediately, and the structure is flexible enough for future expansion.
